While some parents like dressing kids like mini me's, I prefer to see kids with their own unique fashion styles. When Bit'z Kids contacting me about reviewing an outfit from their store I was beyond excited.

Bit'z Kids

Bit'z Kids NYC is a Japanese casual luxury baby and children’s clothing boutique on the Upper West Side. They recently opened a second boutique at Greenwich Street in Tribeca this summer. They have "Nursing Room" which are available for moms and kids anytime.

My son looked adorable in the "Off White Dinosaurs Shirt" we received to review. As we spent the day touring around town I watched to see how the shirt would hold up. It was comfortable and smooth fit for my very active son. We received lots of compliments on the "cuteness" of the shirt.

The other item received was their original comfy-pants, which is one of Bit'z Kids best sellers. The full-elastic waistband is made to be stretchy, playful, and help with quick changes. These pull-on pants are soft to the touch to keep kids comfortable. They come in an assortments of fabrics, colors, pant’s lengths and sizes (12mos – 5 yrs).

After reviewing the clothes I wanted to know more about the "people" behind the brand so I visit their Upper West Side store. I met with the Origami instructor Tak who showed me around the store and told more about Japanese fashion.

Bit'z Kids

Tak explained that it's more fun to mix-match and be creative with clothing. Kids like to be free and have fun so the clothing follows this mindset. Using many layers is part of the fun. The reaction from American parents? They love it!

I also learned that Bit'z Kids believes in giving back to the community. They offer free origami classes to teach and share the Japanese culture with the local community. while there my son received his very own origami bird. He loved it and proudly carried it around.

Would you like to try a origami lesson taken place in their store. This week they're making Halloween Origami which includes Jack-o'-lantern's using paper and stickers.
