Three Bears Holiday Bash Puppet Show Review

Recently I took my son to see the The Three Bears Holiday Bash at the famed Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre in Central Park. I've been in Central Park and walked by the Swedish Cottage many time but never been inside. Going in to see the play was a treat.

Please Note: As part of the Kids Club 13 Ambassador program, I received free tickets to the show. No other compensation was received. Views expressed are always 100% my own.

The Swedish Cottage itself is very intimate and sweet. All around it's decorated with different types of puppets. The Marionette Theatre inside in also cozy with wooden benches for you to sit on. The stage is directly in front and no matter where you sit you can see the action!

Three Bears Holiday Bash

The play itself wasn't long but enjoyable. "The Three Bears Holiday Bash is a variety show that celebrates the holiday season in song, dance, and puppetry. This production quickly becomes a comedy of errors when Baby Bear invites Santa to star in Mama and Papa Bears’ annual holiday show."

There was a dancing flamingo, neon bears and a baby bear who nearly slept and missed seeing Santa. The songs were catchy and the kids enjoyed it. But the real treat are the puppets themselves moving around stage.

After the show one of the puppeteer came out and demonstrated how the marionette (puppets) are controlled and made to move. She explained and demonstrated how to move the puppets head, arms and body. I thought that was nice for the children to see.
