Recently I was invited to bring my son to the New Balance Experience Store here in NYC, for an event to check out their Kids Fall 2012 footwear collection.

When we arrived I thought we'd have to browse the shoes first before picking out a style. But the New Balance team had already done their homework and had a pair of Minimus Trail sneakers for my son to try.

After examining the sneakers, I was impressed with the light weight design. A quick Google search gave me some interesting info about this line of footwear.
The New Balance NB Minimus line features a wider toe area to allow toes to splay naturally, a reduced heel-to-toe drop (4mm), and a sole that is reduced in thickness to increase ground feel.
As one of the store helpers fitted my son, I asked him questions about footwear for growing children. He recommended that footwear fit kids more snug then loose so kids get a good grip for walking, running, etc.

After checking that the sneakers fit, it was time to enjoy the other activities happening at the event like meeting Newbie and taking a photo.

Also at the event was Playworks, with recess activities for the kids to enjoy. Of course my son had to join in the relay race. He's a very good runner and enjoyed seeing how fast he could go. While enjoyed that activity I checked out the other New Balance Kids Fall collection.

For back to school, the New Balance Kids Fall 2012 Collection is filled with lots of bright bold colors and designs. for the girls you can choose rainbow or even glitters footwear. For the boys no glitter but dark bold colors blended with black stripes. Lots of color options to match kids back to school outfits.
