I recently attended the Kids Food Festival with my husband, “T” my 3 year old, “A” my 1 year old and “L” my friends 5 year old daughter, who was with us for the day. As soon as we reached the venue, the children were super excited and ready to sample everything.

During the Kids Food Festival, we visited all the booths and sampled Fruit Shredz from Plum Kids, Grahamfuls from Honey Maid, Grilled American Cheese sandwiches from Organic Valley, Happytot flavored coconut milk from Happy Family, Honest Kids juice boxes from Honest Tea and frozen Probugs from Lifeway Organics.

Between sampling the delicious products we took some pictures with Brobee from Yo Gabba Gabba, entered the raffles, danced with the DJ from Baby Loves Disco, learned how to make “Funked Out Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup” with Aaron McCargo Jr and how to make Funny Food Art with Bill & Claire Wurtzel.

Our last stop was a hands-on cooking class with Cricket Azima from the Creative Kitchen, but before we headed there we decided to suit up and create our own chef hat and aprons. “T” made his own chef hat complete with tons of stickers and ‘L” created a one of a kind apron.

The class with Cricket was full of energy, fun, interactive and educational. The little chefs were given ingredients and step by step instructions on how to make “Pattern Parfaits”. We counted our ingredients, talked about where they came from, what they tasted like and we even used our bodies to crush our graham crackers to make crumbles for our pattern parfaits.

This was a fun yet informative event for the whole family and we can’t wait to attend next year!
