Join me in wishing Sesame Street Happy 45fth Anniversary today! Winning an unprecedented 159 Emmy Awards, Sesame Street is the longest running children's television show in history. Let me just say that those Emmy awards are well deserved.

For the last 4 years I've been proud to posted news and event recaps about Sesame Street/Sesame Workshop. As an organization they've done so many amazing things for the community, for families and most important for children like my son.

Sesame Street Celebrates 45 Year Anniversary

As the longest running children’s television show in history, domestic and international versions of Sesame Street reach 156 million children worldwide in 150 countries that not only teach the alphabet, but also tackle tough issues including incarceration, divorce and even HIV/AIDS.

The infamous stoop of 123 Sesame Street has been visited by some of Hollywood’s biggest stars including Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, and Ellen DeGeneres.

Fun fact: James Earl Jones was the first celebrity ever to appear on the show in 1979! Going forward One Direction and First Lady Michelle Obama are just a few of the special appearances you can catch throughout Season 45.

Here's to wishing Sesame Street many more years of helping children (and their families) grow smarter, stronger and kinder.
